When shall we expect you?

LESS ON YOUR LIST. MORE TO REMEMBER.

You don’t need
much out here.

A favorite book. Someone you love. A whole afternoon with nothing on the calendar.

Northwater is a small lakeside retreat in Minnesota’s Brainerd Lakes country. Thoughtful cabins, open water, and the simple pleasure of being somewhere you can take your time.

FOLLOW YOUR OWN PACE

Do a little.
Or do nothing.

There’s no right way to spend a day here.
Just a few good places to start.

Take a canoe out before the lake wakes up. Find a sunny spot on the dock. Leave enough time for one more swim.

A few notes for your stay

SOME PLACES JUST FEEL DIFFERENT.

Less screen time.
More “remember when?”

The best things you take home won’t fit in your bag.

BEFORE YOU HEAD NORTH

A few

Less figuring things out.
More looking forward to it.

Where is Northwater?

Northwater is imagined in Minnesota’s Brainerd Lakes region, a landscape of lakes, pine woods, and small towns. This is a resort design concept for Sean Swanson’s portfolio, rather than an operating property.

What comes with a cabin?

Each cabin is designed around the essentials: a comfortable bed, good coffee, a porch or sitting area, and somewhere to gather. The Shore House adds a full kitchen and space for six. Explore each stay for its individual features.

Is there a good time to visit?

Summer is for swimming and long evenings outside. Early fall brings cooler mornings and quieter lake days. Pick the pace you’re after; the stay planner lets you explore sample dates and cabin options.

Can I make a reservation?

The stay planner is a working demonstration with illustrative rates. It lets you compare cabins and plan dates, but it does not accept reservations, payments, or personal information.
