Who runs this site

The short version
There are no advertising trackers on this site, no analytics product, and no cookies used to follow you around. The only information collected is what you deliberately type into the contact form, plus the technical details needed to stop that form being abused. If you never fill in the form, effectively nothing about you is recorded.
What the contact form collects
When you submit the form on the contact page, the following is stored:
- Your name, email address and business name, if you give them
- What stage the business is at and the budget range you pick, if you pick one
- The address of your current website, if you give one
- The message you write
- Your IP address and browser user-agent string, recorded with the message. These are used to rate-limit the form and to identify spam. They are not used to profile you or to target advertising.
Your email address is the only field that is genuinely required, along with a message long enough to be a real enquiry.
Where it goes
A submitted enquiry travels to exactly three companies, all acting as processors on our behalf:
- Vercel — hosts this website and runs the code that receives the form.
- Supabase — the database the enquiry is stored in. Images used on the blog are also served from Supabase storage.
- Resend — delivers the notification email to us and the acknowledgement email back to you.
Enquiries are not sold, rented or shared with anyone else, and you will not be added to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.
The free SEO audit
The free SEO audit page embeds a tool from ReportMagnet, a separate service also operated by SwansonX LLC. It runs inside a frame served by reportmagnet.com, which means that when you use it the website address you enter, and the fact that you arrived from this site, are sent to ReportMagnet so the page can be fetched and scored. Loading that page also tells ReportMagnet your IP address, in the same way visiting any website does. If you do not use the audit, none of this applies.
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no tracking cookies. It stores exactly one thing in your browser: a
sx-theme entry in local storage, which remembers whether you chose the
light or dark theme. It stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and if you
never touch the theme switch it is never written at all. Clearing your browser data
removes it.
How long it is kept
Enquiries are kept while there is a live conversation or an ongoing working relationship, and for up to 24 months afterwards so that past work can be referred back to. After that they are deleted. You can ask for yours to be deleted sooner, at any time, and it will be.
What you can ask for
Email sean@swansonx.com and you can have a copy of everything held about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. There is no form to fill in and no charge. Because this is a one-person business, the answer comes from the person who actually holds the data, usually within a few days.
Children
This site sells website design to businesses. It is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Security, honestly stated
The site is served over HTTPS, the form is rate-limited, and the database is not publicly readable. No website can promise perfect security, and this one does not. What it can promise is that it collects very little, which is the most effective protection available.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. There is no archive of previous versions; if you need one, ask and it can be pulled from the site's git history.
