Because I would rather show you than pitch you. Most people hate being sold to, and I am
not much good at it anyway. A homepage you can look at on your own phone answers the
question a sales call is trying to answer, and it answers it more honestly.
The other half is simpler. If the homepage isn't good enough to make you want the rest
of the site, then I haven't earned the job. Finding that out costs me a day of work.
Finding it out after you have paid costs us both a great deal more.
What I get out of it is a piece of work I'm allowed to show other people, and sometimes
a client. That is the entire trade, and there is nothing else attached to it.
Why only five at a time
Five is not a scarcity trick. I design and code every one of these myself, around the
work I am already doing for people who are paying me. Five is honestly what fits. When
those are finished I open it up again, and if you write while I'm full I'll tell you
that instead of quietly adding you to a list.
