Fast hosting on Vercel, included. Nothing extra to buy and nobody else to call about it.

Domain and SSL

Renewals watched and the padlock kept valid, so the site never greets a customer with a security warning.

Backups

Kept off-site, so a bad day is an inconvenience rather than a rebuild.

Uptime monitoring

I find out it's down before your customer tells you.

Updates and patches

Dependencies kept current, which is most of what website security actually is for a site like yours.

Small edits, up to 3 hours a month

Hours, prices, a new photo, a paragraph. Email me and it's done — you don't have to log into anything. Your client panel is there if you'd rather do it yourself.

Worth saying

This isn't rent on your own website.

A website builder charges $16 to $46 a month and the page disappears when you stop paying. This is the opposite: you own the site and the source code, and $49/month buys you somebody who keeps it running and answers when you email. Stop paying and you take the site with you.

What people ask.

What's the difference between this and the Partner Plan?

Scope, not hours — both include up to 3 hours of changes a month. Site Care is the website, and only the website, at $49/month. The Partner Plan at $300/month is everything — the website, any custom software, and me as your developer for whatever comes up. If a website is all you have, this is the one, and most people never need the other.

Do I have to take it?

No, and plenty of people don't. You own the site and the source code either way — this is website hosting and maintenance, not permission to use what you paid for. You can host it yourself and never speak to me again.

Can I cancel?

Any month, no fee, no notice period. There's no contract to get out of. The site keeps working; I hand over whatever you need to take it elsewhere.

What isn't included?

New pages, a redesign, or anything that's really a new project — those get quoted separately as a fixed price first. Your domain registration, about $15 a year, stays on your card in your name.

What if I didn't build the site with you?

Ask. If it's something I can host and look after sensibly, this works the same way. If it's built on a platform I can't maintain properly, I'll tell you that instead of taking the money.
